Welcome back to a new school year at Highland Springs Elementary! I hope you and your families had a restful and enjoyable summer break. We are thrilled to welcome our students back to school and are eager to embark on another year of learning, growth and fun.
Our dedicated staff has been working hard to prepare for the upcoming year, and we have many exciting plans in store. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where every student can thrive. Our goal is to foster a love of learning and to support each child in achieving their fullest potential.
Important information for 2024-25:
First day of school: Aug. 19, 2024
School hours: 8:10 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.
Open house: Aug. 15, 2024 4-6 p.m.
Back-to-School Night: Sept. 19 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Student holiday: Aug. 30 – schools closed
Labor Day: Sept. 2 – schools closed
We also have several new initiatives and improvements this year:
New curriculum enhancements: We have introduced new resources and programs to support our students’ academic growth, particularly in literacy and STEM education.
Facility updates: Over the summer, we completed several projects to enhance our school facilities, including painting a few murals, signage changes, etc.
Community engagement: We are expanding our efforts to engage with families and the community through various events and volunteer opportunities.
New house system: We are striving to create an environment of belonging for all students, families, faculty and staff through fun, competition and leadership.
We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is essential for student success. We encourage you to stay involved in your child’s education and to communicate regularly with your child’s teacher. Together, we can make this a fantastic year for all our students.
